The TL;DR: my second book, a tale of Viking-esque warriors and the ties that bind us, will be released in November, and I am so excited to share this world with you!

My second book comes out in about six months and I cannot wait. While I adore DEVIL IN THE DAYLIGHT, this next book is particularly special to me. BLOOD AND WATER was the first novel I shared with other writers that was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback. It’s the first novel I ever sent to agents hoping for representation, and again, I received so much encouraging feedback (even coupled with the countless rejections). BLOOD AND WATER is how I became connected to my editor, which ultimately led to deals for eight total books (and counting?)!
|
I wrote BLOOD AND WATER at a time of freedom and wild transition. I was still somewhat a newlywed, had recently moved halfway across the country, and was left alone while my husband spent a summer interning an entire state away. A story sparked, and I filled my mornings, evenings, and lunch breaks pouring words onto paper. It was the most fun I’ve ever had with writing (a high I’ll probably continue chasing to my dying day), and at times the most frustrating story I’ve ever gotten it in my head to write down.
|
Almost ten years have passed since I finished the first draft of a Viking-inspired story about a warrior trying to find her place within her tribe, who dreams of a love like her parents share but fears being lost in a husband’s shadow. A sister desperate to hold her family together as events beyond her control keep fracturing them further. A young woman drawn to the enemy her family holds captive, despite the harm his people have caused hers. This novel is constantly questioning the ties that bind us—and whether blood is truly thicker than water.

I’m so excited for this book to find its way into your hands. I hope you’re ready to join me in a snow-laden land of warriors and gods, training montages and flirty banter. See you in Torblirost!
